Slide and Swing

Recently we have been making the most of our back yard. Audrey, Eric, and their friend Sarah continue to use our sled even though the snow is gone (while Sam spectates).

And we finally put up a rope swing in this tree that is leaning precariously toward our building. We started pretty conservatively, but things sort of escalated, and pretty soon Audrey was living up to her toddler nickname "Kamikaudrey" once again.

To infinity, and beyond...

For Eric's birthday, we went to the Air and Space Museum near Dulles Airport. On Saturdays, they have several stations with activities kids can do. Our timing couldn't have been better for Eric, who loves airplanes, spaceships, Buzz Lightyear, and pretty much anything else that flies.

Classic Nelson boys clip

This video is from a few months ago, but we like it so much we thought it's worth posting.

The happiest snowman

Audrey and Eric made their first snowman today. It's hard to look at this guy without feeling a little better about life.

Classic!

A couple months ago Eric fell asleep on the drive home from church, but it was already too late for a nap so we didn't put him in bed. Nick set him on the couch and when he came back in the room he had to grab the camera... Awesome!

A Whistle, a Smile, and a Sneeze

Happy chaos before bathtime.

I'm digging Audrey's hair and Eric's shirt.

Pretty loud whistling for a four-year-old, eh? For the record, Audrey learned to whistle before her mother and is now her mother's coach and cheerleader! After what was once thought to be a hereditary impossibility, her mother can now "whisper whistle" after warming up for two minutes. Thanks, Audrey! (Maybe there's hope for her mother to be able to do a cartwheel before she dies, too!)
